WELCOME TO DOXA DEO
WAXHAW CAMPUS

Doxa Deo Waxhaw, along with all the other campuses in the Doxa Deo family, dreams about a city and communities transformed into a place where God reigns. At Doxa Deo Waxhaw we believe that every person is called as part of our campus, not just to be a partner of Doxa Deo Waxhaw, but also to partner with us to make a real difference in our strategic city.

At Doxa Deo Waxhaw we see our city in eight different spheres, namely Church, Media, Arts, Education, Sports, Social Services, Business and Government. We would like our Sunday celebrations, City Changer Life Groups and any programs and opportunities that are offered weekly to provide the platform for our partners to be fully equipped in becoming a City Changer in his / her own sphere of influence.

Why do we talk about Partnership?

The word “member” does not capture the heart of membership properly. For this reason we went looking for a more relevant concept. The Bible uses many different comparisons when it refers to a congregation. The Bible, for example, refers to the Church as a body or a family. These comparisons communicate the importance of complete immersion or participation. You cannot be part of a body and function independently from that body. A modern concept that encapsulate this complete participation is “partnership”.

Partnership entails more than merely having an interest in church, it entails being engaged and participating while acknowledging that you have a contribution to make to the church. We therefore refer to membership as partnership.

God chose to change our world through the Church. God does not have a Plan-B. For this reason, partnership with the Church is important. Acts 2:47 says that God added to their number. The word “added” literally means “to set you in place to your advantage”. Doxa Deo, as one of the expressions of God’s Church in Tshwane desires to enter into partnership with you.

How do I become a Partner?

Please contact us in order to join our New Partners process. Be sure to engage with our discipleship programs after that. Our prayer is that you will find your place and fulfil your calling in the body of Christ.

what lives in the heart of doxa deo

Our name, Doxa Deo, means the Glory of God. At the heart of this ministry is the desire to see God’s transforming presence in every city where we have influence.

We believe that every believer in Jesus is an ambassador for His mission, called to bring Faith, Love and Hope to our cities. Faith that reaches those who are spiritually lost. Love that heals the social pain of our people. And Hope that brings restoration to the systemic brokenness in our society.

Church is much more than just a service on Sundays. For us, it’s about connecting with others, growing in your faith and building a strong foundation for your family. Taking Sunday’s faith into Monday’s life.

Everything we do focuses on equipping and raising up people to become agents of positive change in their world, City Changers who Know God, Love People and Impact Our City.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

THE BIBLE

WE BELIEVE the Bible is uniquely and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit and is the foundation of all Truth. As such, it is the supreme and final authority on all matters on which it speaks and is the guiding reference for all fulfillment in life. The Bible reveals to us the Glory of God, and how we, and all of creation have been reconciled to God.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 – All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

GOD AS OUR FATHER

WE BELIEVE there is One God, the sovereign Creator and Sustainer of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We have a loving heavenly Father who created us for relationship with Him. We do not have to work for His recognition and acceptance, but we receive His love and the affirmation over our lives.

2 Corinthians 6:18 – “I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”

JESUS CHRIST

WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who became human through His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and His virgin birth. He who is true God, became true man. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. He is our Saviour. On the third day, He arose from the dead, because humanity had been set right with God. He then ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of the Father He continues to make intersession for us.

Romans 4:25 – who was delivered up because of our offenses and was raised because of our justification.

Romans 6:4 – Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

WE BELIEVE hat the Holy Spirit has come to glorify and to establish the saving work of Jesus Christ in the lives of believers. He convicts us of sin and draws us to our Saviour. Being constantly present in our lives He empowers us to live out the new Christ filled life and imparts gifts to us for service to others. He instructs and guides us into all truth in our everyday lives.

Acts 1:8 – “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

SALVATION

WE BELIEVE that being estranged from God and condemned by our sinfulness, our salvation is wholly dependent upon the work of God’s free grace through faith. We have been set free from guilt and shame through receiving the grace and righteousness of God that this salvation provides in our lives.

Romans 10:9-10 – that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans 5:17 – for if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

THE CHURCH

WE BELIEVE through faith in Jesus Christ all persons are united together as the ‘body of Christ’ where He is the ‘head’ of the Church. Therefore, we believe that the local Church is a “family on mission”. Here, coming together in groups (for relationship and transformation) and gatherings (for impartation and inspiration) the Word of God is preached, the sacraments are administered, scriptural discipline is practised, and loving fellowship is experienced.

Ephesians 1:22-23 – And He put all things under His feet and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

THE KINGDOM OF GOD

WE BELIEVE the entire cosmos can be understood only in relation to God. We see Christianity as a life system, or worldview, that governs every area of existence. Everything that exists came into being at His command and is therefore subject to Him, finding its purpose and meaning in Him. Our vision must be Jesus’ grand vision of global transformation. His vision of the world, and everything in it turned right side up through Christ’s victory on the cross. Jesus appeared to His disciples before His ascension as a victorious King—the supreme authority of heaven and earth. He taught them, and us, to pray for His Kingdom to come on earth—now—as it is in heaven.

Col 1:15-17 – He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or [e]principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

PROCLAIMING THE WORD

WE BELIEVE that by proclaiming the word of God, truth is revealed that is vital to enlighten, empower and embolden every believer to live a life that brings glory to God and fulfilment of their calling. We trust that in our communication of the Word we will reveal redemption and inspire people to pursue the better hope that we have in Jesus Christ for this life and for eternity.

2 Tim 4:1-4 I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

BAPTISM & COMMUNION

WE BELIEVE Christ instituted the ordinances of water baptism and communion, both of which are to be observed by believers until He returns. We believe by public water baptism a believer who confesses their faith in Jesus Christ is identified with his Savior in His death, resurrection, and ascension.

Romans 6:4 – Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

WE BELIEVE communion is a memorial of Christ’s death, the elements being symbols of His body and blood. Partaking in Communion does not only remind us of His suffering but also shows us the love Jesus had for us. Through the engagement of Communion, we also connect with Jesus Christ not only in the memory of his death, but in the spiritual life He gives to us. The Bible also teaches us that in the experience of taking Communion, Christ is present to meet and strengthen his people.

Romans 6:4 – Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

OUR FUTURE HOPE

WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ will personally and visibly return to the earth. His soon return motivates us to heartfelt worship, service, and witness. We believe in the resurrection of the body culminating in an eternity of life with God for the saved, and a judgement which implies eternal separation for the lost. This will consummate history and the eternal plan of God.

Acts 1:10 – And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, 11 who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 – For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus, we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.

Hebrews 10:23 – Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, so so much as you see the Day approaching.
