Kids

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.

1 Timothy 4:12

Called one: At Doxa Deo Kids we love our team, have a deep relationship with God and commit to having healthy relationships with all children at the ministry. Our aim is to create a safe space where children can flourish and learn about Jesus in a fun and new way. Each week we have a properly worked out lesson out of our curriculum which is then facilitated in a vibrant way. If you’d like to become part of this team please feel free to contact Anneke: [email protected]

Pre-School

We aim to serve each child on the basis of where their life stage is. We understand that we have a direct influence upon how children, who attend our kids’ services, perceive God’s heart to all children in a truthful and fun way, and we use creative means on how to make the bible relevant to their everyday lives.

Our team consists of people who sees the kids ministry as their calling to serve all the kids with excellence and passion.

Our classes are divided as follows:

Toddlers (2 & 3 years of age)

Kindergarten (4 & 5 years of age)

Grade R-1 (6-7 years of age)

Grade 2-5

Our grade 2-5’s are served in one big class as their way of thinking and relating to concepts about God is close together.

We use fun and games in the large group service where we focus on God, Love and Grace. We then spilt into age groups where the children have the privilege to discuss the main theme of the day and how it can be implemented practically in their lives.

It is of high importance that children in these ages “Grade 2-5” will learn how to love people just as God loves us and that they can also serve others with this perspective.

We have a high value upon praise and worship. The worship has loads of energy and is relevant and gives the children the opportunity to put their focus upon God and their relationship with Jesus. We want the children to have fun but also understand that worship is about honouring God and should be part of their lifestyle.

Relationships are also highly valued at our kids ministry. Our team isn’t just there to make sure a Sunday service runs smoothly but also there to be mentors and to give sound and truthful advice to any child who needs guidance. Relationship is one of the most important values we have that helps make any child feel welcome and loved, just as Jesus did with His disciples.

Our one desire is to make a lasting impact in children’s lives. We don’t want a Sunday to be a once off event for the children but we aim to ensure that what happens on a Sunday will echo into the week that follows. Thus we try to equip the family with the Sunday message so that parents can revisit the lesson that happened and be the teacher of their child’s spiritual growth.

Grade 6&7

We acknowledge that the grade 6&7 phase is a crucial stage in the development of a child. That is why we have made it a priority to serve them at their own service. We understand that at these ages, children have different priorities and needs as younger children, questions like; what is truth and who am I? become a focus for them.

This is why we focus our grade 6&7 ministry on discovering their Identity in Christ. The way our services are put together is based upon the children discovering the truth rather than just teaching it, meaning the lesson is interactive and done in a “pre-teen” and relevant way. The aim is to release a grade 7 child into the teenager phase by knowing the truth about who God is, what His love means for them, and who God says we are.

We have a high value upon praise and worship. The worship has loads of energy and is relevant and gives the children the opportunity to put their focus upon God and their relationship with Jesus.
