City Changer Projects

These are city projects that we we either run or support financially through the Generocity fund, in order to make a significant impact in our city.

KINGDOM VISION

The Kingdom Vision Foundation exists to make quality eye care accessible and affordable for those who cannot afford private healthcare.

They currently run two clinics in Bloemfontein (at Anchor of Hope and the University of the Free State) where patients receive free eye tests and affordable glasses.

KVF also serves as a training facility for UFS optometry students, giving them supervised clinical hours while multiplying their impact in the city.

STREET STORE

The Street Store is an initiative organised and supported by many churches, businesses and schools, joining hands to host a free popup clothing store to bless people in need.

The shoppers are also welcomed with something to eat and invited to connect with the volunteers who serve and usher them with intentional care.

We are looking for many more partnerships in the city so that we can serve our communities in a better and more effective way.

UNTOLD STORIES

Untold Stories is a citywide initiative where we gather church leaders across denominations once a term for fellowship, relationship, and encouragement.

The heart is simple: to strengthen unity among leaders, build friendships, and discover how we can serve our city better together.

In Bloemfontein, we currently have two groups with around 10 churches represented in each.

VRYSTAAT NASORG SENTRUM

Vrystaat Nasorg Sentrum is home to 120 adults with mental disabilities, as well as several day visitors who are part of the community.

The centre provides not only care but also a sense of family and belonging, as well as opportunities to learn and contribute through bakery, sewing, and woodwork projects.

As a church, we believe this is part of what James 1:27 calls us to: “to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”
