Good Day Family

In our direct community we know of so many people in need of food because of the Covid-19.  It is for this reason that the churches in Centurion – (LPS Love Pretoria South) – have decided to work together on a food project to bring relief to people who need it.

The project is known as project “Hunger Relief”.

We trust God that we will be able to provide thousands of meals to people in areas around Centurion. These areas are Olivenhoutbosch, Diepsloot, Mooiplaatz, the Chelter in Lyttelton and Itireleng.

You can get involved by making a financial contribution or by helping the team to pack the lunches.

Buy a box of 30 lunches at R600 – (300 meals) or buy a number of meals at R2 a meal or buy 10 boxes – We trust the Lord for 200 boxes – which means we can give 60 000 meals – a total of R120 000 .

You can also get involved by helping us pack these meals, for more information regarding the “packing of meals” you can register on ChurchSuite: https://doxadeosouth.churchsuite.co.uk/events/yp18hvzl . Permits for this will be obtained.

Come and make an impact together in our community.

Ubuntu: 75 000 meals to feed the hunger

It is no secret that the impact of Covid-19 has resulted in devastating socio-economic challenges in our country. We are familiar with the expression: “No work, no pay”, however, during the national lockdown, this expression has gained greater definition; a definition that is being experienced on a first-hand basis.

Our community and its people are in desperate need of food. A fraternal of churches in Centurion (aka Love Pretoria South) have decided to collaborate in a food project that would bring relief to our community. The Project, better known as Hunger Relief, approached church members and members of the community to make financial contributions toward food parcels that will be distributed to areas such as Olievenhoutbosch, Diepsloot, Mooiplaats, a shelter in Lyttelton and Itireleng. One of these boxes can provide up to 300 meals to feed children, or 180 meals for adults. Each meal has been formulated to include the recommended daily allowance of essential vitamins and minerals.

The main aim of this initiative was to gather enough funds to make provision for 60 000 meals. However, the Hunger Relief Project, has been blessed in abundance with a total of R150 000, making it possible to provide 75 000 meals to a hungry community.

Yes, it is no secret that Covid-19 is the scapegoat of a hungry society, but it is also no secret that collectively and in the spirit of Ubuntu, one can make a lasting impact.

The Hunger Relief Project would like to thank the community for every contribution made.

We will be packing again at different campuses on the following dates:

18 June – Kerk in Suid
