HOPE

HOPE (Help Our People Eat) is our care program for partners that are going through short-term financial challenges. We provide food parcels for families, love and support through prayer and equip them with financial training on how to better manage their finances. You can get involved by donating non-perishable goods or by making a once-off or monthly financial contribution.

Doxa Deo Parkview Life Centre

Doxa Deo Parkview has launched our Life Centre in the Parkview Shopping Mall. We now have our very own place from where we can ‘Minister’ to our community 7 days a week.

Our vision at Doxa Deo is to see the establishment of the Lordship of Christ in every area of society. Seeing cities changed to places where God reigns, is the heartbeat of our ministry. We believe that God has a special plan for cities and uses ordinary people in exceptional ways to reflect His glory and love. We believe that City Transformation happens through impacting the 8 spheres of society: Church, Media, Arts, Education, Sports, Social Services, Business and Government.

Due to our location in the Parkview Mall, we have a unique opportunity to impact the market place.

Our vision at the Parkview Life Centre is to build into individuals and companies on an emotional, spiritual and intellectual level, through one-on-one support, training opportunities, information sessions and workshops.

How can I get Involved?

‘Ministry’ is not just something pastors & church staff do on Sundays, but something every single person who considers themselves a child of God, does. It’s for ordinary people, and it’s something God’s children can do 7 days a week …

Consider that, if we are to obey Jesus’ command to “…go to all the nations…”, then It makes sense to start right where we are – our families, colleagues and our communities – because it’s our nation. There is no shortage of hurt & confusion in the lives of people all around us. People really are desperate for answers and Godly friendships. Anybody can be a friend. And that is all it takes! After all, we carry within us the Holy Spirit of God, guiding us, providing for us, and giving us the strength to engage with the world. The “Market Place” principal teaches that we all, no matter who we are – a teacher, a handyman, a full-time mom, or just an everyday corporate executive – we ALL have a “market place” filled with friends and colleagues that need an alternative voice.  We – you and me – are IT… Jesus said so. We make the difference right where we are.

The Parkview Shopping Centre is our literal modern-day marketplace!!! This is our community. We need to engage with them.  You can get involved by:

  • Joining Adopt-a-shop. Pray with us on a Wednesday morning at 8h10. Engage with and support the various shops in the Mall.
  • Supporting the Life Centre by giving of your time as a volunteer to pray or engage with anyone who comes to the Centre for support.
  • Join us to plan and start support groups for the community around us. e.g. Hospital staff
  • Partner with us by providing services that fit in with our vision and values.
  • Coming soon! : Rent our facilities to present workshops, seminars or training that fit in with our vision and values. We have a conference room that can seat 100 people.

Police

The Garsfontein Police station has been serving our community with much sacrifice and servanthood for many years. God has laid it on our hearts, as a congregation, to make a focused effort in serving them through different initiatives. The Station Commander and Senior officers have welcomed us with open arms and are eager for us to engage with the members of the Station, as the need for support is great.

Our initial focus areas are:

  • Spiritual support
    • Prayer and sharing of the Word at Shift change – 06:00 and 18:00
    • Prayer and sharing of the Word at the Officer’s Parade on Friday mornings
    • Women’s Ministry prayer at the station every week
  • Physical support:
    • Facility: As each Police station is now responsible for the upkeep of their own facilities, we felt moved to assist Garsfontein station with the improvement of their Facilities, to ensure a great work environment for the officers and support staff, and to also contribute towards making the station a beacon of hope and a positive influence in our community. The projects we aim to achieve this though are:
      • Painting
      • Construction
      • Carpentry
      • Garden Services
    • Staff support
      • Spoiling the staff on duty with some snacks and coffee when possible
      • Assistance through qualified members of our Church with spiritual, and psychological counselling

Our heart as TREE is not only to minister to the children within the schools but also to make sure the teachers and the principal has the support which they need.As TREE at Doxa Deo, we envision a generation that will rise into their identity within Christ Jesus, allowing every child to transform their area of influence therefore seeing a city transform.
