Street Store is a free one-day popup clothing store for homeless or low-income people from any age group, gender or ethnicity.
People in our city are given a dignified and free shopping experience during which they can also be prayed for and ministered to. This is a citywide initiative where many different churches, schools, businesses and organisations take hands to collect clothing and give volunteers to make this day a success.
Other than the clothing we bless the shopper with something to eat and drink.
We will be hosting our 2nd annual Steet Store in Pretoria at different sites.
What we need to make this day a success:
- Portable toilets
- Donations of clean, ironed, good condition clothes (Shoes, Jackets, Clothing and Accessories for Men, Woman,
- Children and babies)
- Hand to sorting through clothes (before event)
What can you do on the day?
We have 3 main areas where you can serve:
1. Shop assistant:
Shop assistants help to pack and unload clothing, man clothing stations and restock clothing stations during the day and pack away access clothes at the end of the day.
Ushers accompany the shoppers while the walk through the store and help them shop. This is a gold class opportunity to spend time with the shoppers, to get to know their story and also minister to them.
3. Security and Logistics
Security and logistics help to ensure that everything runs smoothly and safely during the day.
